Chip Disposal | Chip Processing
Chip processing by ARPThe chips are broken up, dried, put into interim storage and subsequently fed back to the furnaces by an automated system.
Depending on requirements, ARP offers chip cutting units for a great variety of materials and chip sizes. The size reduction of the chips is imperative for transportation in pipe systems. ARP chip cutting unit systems with a chip chamber screen ensure a uniform pumpable chip quality.
In conjunction with drying, breaking-up considerably increases market value of the chips.
Double shaft cutting units are usually used for breaking steel chips, and single shaft cutting units are often used for materials such as aluminium, brass or copper.
The size of the material to be cut up is determined by the screen plate. Small screen perforations are used for stiff and needle-shaped chips (0.5-1.5 mm), and large screen perforations are used for leaf-shaped and broad chips.
The cutting unit is protected against overloads and over-sized pieces by a specific control system.
